Camp Diary

Day 1

1. FAIL: dorito bag popped due to high altitude
2. FAIL: we left our fully stocked food locker open (dun dun dun!)
3. FAIL: megan sights chipmunk enter our open food locker and steal a dorito. clever animals around here.
4. FAIL: blanket seems to have shrunk in the wash. way. too. small.

Day 2

i seem to have survived the night. very uncomfortable. woke up at 4:30 am and couldn't go back to sleep. :( breakfast was toast. crystal cave required 1/2 mile hike. sightseeing ensued with way too many pics of us and the big redwoods. dindin is chicken and rice. smores followed of course!

Day 3

after a breakfast of bacon, corn beef hash, and eggs, me and meg walked down to deadly river. i decided not to risk my life. on our way to grant grove. to be continued...

grant grove = a lot of pics and 1 1/2 hour drive. this one lady was all "Where's Kings Canyon?" with some sort of accent which was really funny because we were in Kings Canyon lol... we then went to the lake to eat salami and cheese. what a b-e-a-utiful sight. hotdogs for dinner and smores for dessert! after smores we headed to the scary amphitheater to watch a ranger talk about fire. yippee. cay yay. anyways the scary part was that an old couple said that bears usually come down this area and the walk to the amphitheater was so long and scary in the dark. on the plus side, we did see an elk. and took a pic.

Day 4

i hated last night. woke up freezing...can't feel my nose. packed everything up and saw a momma and baby deer. guess bambis momma survived after all? time to go!
